HRS-Thomas M. Munger
Dr. Munger graduated with a degree in Mathematics from the University of Vermont, Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, in 1980, and Alpha Omega Alpha, with the Doctor of Medicine Degree, in 1984. Graduate education in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular (CV) Diseases, and Electrophysiology all occurred at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, MN, completing in 1992. He received the Mayo CV Fellowship Outstanding Achievement Award for Research. Dr. Munger has been a staff electrophysiologist at Mayo-Rochester, since 1992. He performs all aspects of complex ablation procedures including: 4-D mapping, epicardial ablation, catheter robotics, cryo-ablation, intra-operative mapping & ablation, as well as left atrial appendage percutaneous occlusion. He is currently an Associate Professor of Medicine and Chair for the Heart Rhythm Division at Mayo-Rochester. Dr. Munger previously was Vice-Chair for Education for the CV Department. He has been a member or chair of multiple administrative and financial committees at both Mayo and the Heart Rhythm Society. His bibliography contains over 100 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters as well as nearly 200 abstracts. He regularly delivers national and international presentations regarding catheter ablation, atrial appendage closure, arrhythmia management, and healthcare reform.
