Robert J. Gropler
Dr. Gropler is Professor of Radiology, Medicine and Biomedical Engineering at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He is Senior Vice-Chair and Division Director Radiological Sciences and Chief of the Cardiovascular Imaging Laboratory at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology. A major focus of Dr. Gropler’s research is the development, and validation of new quantitative tools to measure myocardial intermediary metabolism using various PET radiotracers. These methods have been applied to define the myocardial metabolic-functional relation in a variety of normal and abnormal cardiac states. More recently these efforts have expanded to the pre-clinical and first in man evaluation of new PET radiotracers designed to assess key cellular processes downstream from altered substrate metabolism. He is the current Editor-in-Chief of Circulation: Cardiovascular Imaging.
